COVID-19 update: suspended programs

Indoor group fitness activities including yoga, martial arts, dance, and aerobics where physical distancing cannot be maintained and where people are increasing their heart rate are temporarily suspended in response to Public Health Orders.

Programs that are still operating include art, music, and social programs.

If your program is suspended, we will contact you. You can also check your account for program schedules or call your community centre for more information.

Community centres reopened in a phased approach on September 8.

Programs and services focus on children, youth, seniors, and food security. Registration dates vary.

Thunderbird Community Centre — located next to Thunderbird Elementary School near East Broadway and Rupert St — has programs for all ages.

Activities and facilities include childcare, a playground, a games room, computer lab, multi-purpose rooms, and a fitness centre.

Catchment registration is completed in-person only. Please bring a proof of ID.

Public registration can be completed online, in-person, or over the phone.

Thunderbird Fitness Centre has cardio and strength training machines, indoor bicycles, free weights, and training props.

Thunderbird Neighbourhood Association

The Thunderbird Community Centre is jointly operated by the Vancouver Park Board and the Thunderbird Neighbourhood Association (TNA).

The TNA is an elected, volunteer board that works to provide educational, cultural, recreational, and social service programs to the Thunderbird community area.
